1.7i Premium Crossover Capacitor Upgrade Kit (NO SOLDER)

This crossover capacitor upgrade is designed specifically for the Magnepan 1.7 I. The detail, depth of image, and utter Transparency, gained by this upgrade, will transform your listening experience from hearing about a concert to actually being there. You’ll hear every breath in the background every echo they tried to take out of the recording everything that makes a live recording feel live will be revealed. Unlike the other upgrade kits, this actually will have two sets of wires coming out the back of the kit. The upper set will be four the capacitor that is closest to the panel while the lower set of wires is for the group of capacitors closest to the bottom. I will try to post a video about that in a few weeks when I get another speaker to record a video on.

Please note that while the stock crossover capacitors used in Magnepan speakers are very good. These are considerably better and more revealing of detail. I can’t think of another way you can spend roughly 15 minutes, upgrading a world class Speaker and having that difference be immediately noticeable. This is an easy DIY upgrade and you can do this. I’m always here if you wanna call and get instructions or just a little bravery.

PLEASE NOTE that I strongly encourage people to buy a new 1.7x if they are debating between this kit and the X. The X has wire and driver treatments, that are well worth the additional cost. For those of you who don’t have the budget or love a simple DIY project, this kit is for you.

As a bonus, while I do not sell these separately, I will include a pair of ceramic fuses and a pair of tweeter attenuators free of charge. Please just communicate with me exactly what fuse and resistor values you want.
